Terms of Service

These Terms of Service, the End User License Agreement, Privacy Policy, Data Retention Policy, pricing terms, plan limits, and all other policies posted on the Conjoint Survey website are part of the agreement for using the service.

Conjoint Survey provides software for researchers to create, field, inspect, and export conjoint survey studies. Researchers are responsible for their own study design, ethics review, recruitment, consent language, compensation, and publication decisions.

The free plan currently allows one pilot for one researcher account, up to 20 completed responses, with preview results but without full exports, coauthor viewing, custom completion redirects, or archive bundles. An unused pilot may be deleted and replaced before it receives its first completed response. Once a pilot has a completed response, deleting it does not restore another free pilot.

Paid access is a plan for one researcher account under normal research use. It currently allows up to 1,000 saved surveys, up to 10,000 completed responses per survey, up to 50,000 completed responses lifetime, and AI Help subject to 100 questions per calendar month, 1,200 per calendar year, and 3,000 questions lifetime, plus export, coauthor-viewing, completion-code, redirect, and archive features. Paid access is capped access for the lifetime of the service, not unlimited surveys, responses, AI usage, storage, compute, exports, infrastructure usage, a transferable license, or a right to resell the service. If you reach a lifetime cap, you may purchase another Paid plan if offered and if your account remains in good standing.

AI Help is an automated informational feature and may be unavailable, incomplete, or wrong. It is not professional, statistical, legal, IRB, publication, or account-specific advice. Questions are sent to a third-party AI provider under the Privacy Policy, and users must not submit respondent data, confidential material, credentials, or sensitive personal information.

Result refreshing, exports, archive generation, respondent starts, and other service actions may be rate limited to preserve reliability and prevent abusive automation. These technical limits may change over time and do not reduce the posted completed-response caps for ordinary respondent collection.

You may not resell, sublicense, rent, share, or repackage Conjoint Survey access; operate it as a service bureau for clients; create shared public accounts; circumvent usage limits; create repeated accounts to evade free-tier limits; scrape, attack, overload, or reverse engineer the service; or use automated systems in ways that impair availability, security, data integrity, billing, or other users' access.

We may suspend, limit, cancel, or revoke access, including Paid access, for abusive, fraudulent, unlawful, resale, security-threatening, or materially excessive use. When practical, we may provide notice and an opportunity to correct the issue, but we may act immediately to protect the service, users, respondents, payment systems, or data.

Conjoint Survey may change plan limits, anti-abuse rules, technical controls, security requirements, data retention practices, and product features over time. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated rules. Changes are intended to preserve reliable normal research use, prevent abuse, and keep the service sustainable.

Researchers should not use the service to collect sensitive or directly identifying information unless they have the appropriate legal basis, institutional approval, respondent consent, and data-management procedures.

The app includes design guardrails and analysis exports, but those tools do not replace expert judgment, IRB review, statistical review, or journal-specific replication requirements.

Conjoint Survey uses randomized designs, probabilistic processes, statistical estimation, user-provided inputs, third-party infrastructure, and software automation. Mistakes, outages, omissions, data errors, calculation errors, export errors, and other failures can and will happen. Researchers are responsible for independently checking all designs, links, data, estimates, exports, plots, tables, and methods text before relying on them.

There is no service-level agreement, uptime promise, support-response promise, or data-restoration promise unless separately agreed in writing. Conjoint Survey is not responsible for failures by outside service providers, browsers, survey panels, learning-management systems, survey platforms, hosting providers, payment providers, sign-in providers, database providers, or other infrastructure and integrations.

Support is best effort only. We may try to answer requests, investigate issues, fix problems, restore access, or help with account, billing, export, survey, or data problems, but we do not promise any response time, resolution time, workaround, fix, feature change, data recovery, refund, escalation path, or particular support outcome unless separately agreed in writing.

Conjoint Survey is not liable for publication harms, article rejection, retraction, IRB problems, grant problems, employment or tenure consequences, respondent disputes, panel-provider bans, institutional complaints, outages, data mistakes, security incidents, or damages caused to you or others by errors or omissions in the service, to the maximum extent permitted by law.

Researchers must maintain their own exports, archives, replication files, local backups, and institutional records. Templates, methods text, help text, AI-assisted text, examples, and beta or newly released features are informational starting points only and must be independently reviewed before use.

Researchers are responsible for keeping exported data secure and for deleting study data when it is no longer needed under their protocol or institutional rules.

Payment processing, sign-in, hosting, and data storage depend on outside service providers, and service availability may depend on those providers.
